Paul Loebach is an American designer whose work spans historical, material, and narrative references across product, furniture, and lighting. He has collaborated with, among others, Roll & Hill, Matter, Umbra, and The Future Perfect.
His approach is heavily influenced by his family craft history, an interest in American manufacturing, and a deep sense of curiosity about the relationship between objects and emotions. His work has been recognized by the New York Times, the Washington Post, Wallpaper*, Dezeen, and more, and has appeared in exhibitions across the United States and the world. His work appears in locations as disparate as Moynihan Station in New York, the GOOP offices in Santa Monica, and Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.
He is based in Brooklyn, where he works out of a loft in a former sweater factory.
Eva Hagberg is a design historian and media strategist working at the intersection of academia and practice. She holds a PhD in Visual and Narrative Culture from UC Berkeley, where her research focused on professional and personal partnerships between designers and writers. She has worked with a number of design firms on media and editorial strategy, and has been a working design critic for almost two decades.
Her writing on architecture and design has been widely published in, among other places, the New York Times, The Atlantic, Wallpaper*, and T: The New York Times Style Magazine. She is the author of two trade books about design, Dark Nostalgia and Nature Framed; a critically-acclaimed memoir, How To Be Loved; and the scholarly monograph When Eero Met His Match: Aline Louchheim Saarinen and the Making of an Architect, forthcoming from Princeton University Press in 2022.
She handles business operations, editorial, public relations, and direct and custom sales of Halo lighting for Loebach Designs.

The studio runs internships on a workshop-project model. Each intern will commit to a minimum of twelve weeks and a maximum of six months of intensive work on a single project, which will incorporate skills as varied as prototyping, iterating, drawing, model-making, business development, and more. This is based on an apprenticeship model, which is very heavy on education and skills acquisition.
Responsibilities include: assisting the team through multiple elements of the design process, sketching, 3d-modeling, visualizing, research, and prototyping and fabrication.
Qualifications: familiarity with 3D modeling programs (SW, Rhino, Fusion360), ability to work in the US, external funding from home institution or elsewhere, proficiency in English, and self-motivation.
